This painting tells my story, my memories since I set foot in beautiful Manly, NSW, years ago. I think it is the Australian constant connection to the wilderness, especially in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, that leads most of us to feel welcome to evolve and work on our well-being. I depicted this journey, my version of it, in “Aussie Spring Love Memories”. I even introduced myself in the painting, in the lower right corner, in this very personal piece.
My growing roots in this wild, connected-to-Nature continent inspired this depiction. It has led me to develop a predilection for intense earthy tones. They are rich, luminous and nuanced. The colour now illustrates my personal grounding and my connection to my surroundings, which explains why I enjoy exploring its variations by creating it with natural pigments I find in my kitchen, garden, or on walks.
